This art piece was created after I designed a similar propaganda style poster for class. I loved how my Mother Nature character turned out, and I decided to try my hand at creating a version by hand cutting paper. All of the black is cut using a special rotating blade that allows me to more easily follow curves and add more detail to the hair and flowers. The background is an abstract watercolor, also painted by myself. This piece was shown along with eleven other related pieces at North Main Studios as part of Spring ArtScene in Rockford, IL in April 2017.
